Why won't we believe what the Muslims say?

Entry for October 17, 2006

Do you really think it can't happen here?

Analysis: Gallic intifada

BRUSSELS, Oct. 13 (UPI) -- Turf conscious bloggers in Paris' rundown, mostly Muslim, suburban immigrant housing estates rival in violent messages that threaten to beat senseless and even kill any intruder caught in "our ghetto." Almost every word is misspelled, in both argot slang and pidgin French. And these are not empty threats. An average of 14 policemen a day are injured in bloody clashes with jobless youngsters...

...France's Interior Ministry said 2,500 police officers had been "wounded" this year. The head of the hard-line trade union "Action Police" Michel Thooris wrote to Interior Minister Nicolas Sarkozy to describe conditions in housing developments turned slums as "intifada." Police cruisers are pelted daily with stones and "Molotov cocktails" (gasoline-filled bottles with burning wicks that explode on impact) and Thooris said cops assigned to what was rapidly degenerating into "free fire zones" should be protected in armored vehicles. Entire tall buildings empty into the streets to chase policemen and free an arrested comrade...

...Anti-Semitic incidents have proliferated in France in recent times, but the news seldom makes it across the Atlantic and when it does, it must still fight to be heard above the constant melodrama of constant trivia. A Jewish sports club in Toulouse attacked with Molotov cocktails; in Bondy, 15 men beat up members of a Jewish soccer team with metal bars and sticks; the bus that takes Jewish children to school in Aubervilliers attacked thrice in the past 14 months, synagogues in Strasbourg and Marseilles and a Jewish school in Creteil firebombed in recent weeks; in Toulouse, a gunman opened fire -- all ignored in the mainstream media in the U.S...

...The number one best selling book in France is "September 11: The Frightening Fraud," which posits no plane ever crashed into the Pentagon. A similar book in Germany sold over one million copies. One prominent Belgian businessman conceded privately "no one knows what to believe anymore." Neither multiculturalism nor integration of Muslim communities seems to be working anywhere in Europe. Moderate Muslim voices cannot rise above radical hubbub...

This is the reality in several supposedly "modern, educated, civilized" European countries and is fast becoming the reality in Britain. Jews in America and the American population in general are living in a terribly myopic disconnect from what is going on in the rest of the world.

There are already places in this country, such as Dearborn, Michigan (aka Dearbornistan) [Thanks to Bridgette Gabriel for that term!] which are rapidly becoming enclaves of muslim legal and illegal immigrants who have no intention whatsoever of actually integrating into American society. Instead, they consider themselves the seed of the American version of the tactics now being used in Europe. Those tactics work because of Western misinformation about the extent of radical Islamic beliefs among the mainstream muslim population, and the fabulous opportunity given to them by the naivite of the liberal multicultural crowd that suffers from the delusion that if they just be nice to people, those people won't turn on them later.

Right.

The "new" Rabbi at the Reform Temple here is fond of going on and on about what great progress he has made as "friends" with the local Imam, and can't understand why no one else takes this seriously. He recently mentioned that on one occasion, he had called the local paper to have them come and cover an "interfaith" event with the Iman, but the paper ignored him. He has only been in town about 3 years now, or so.

Apparently, he's never run the Imam's family name through the local newspaper's online database, or he'd know the answer to that question. The people here know that family, and all the crime and scams and illegal, immoral and unethical activities they have been involved with and supported. But the Rabbi can't see how any of that is relevant. He thinks if he is just nice and tolerant, that they will be, too.

I have another friend, a native of Lebanon, who can hardly stand to hear the Rabbi prattle on about how good and tolerant muslims are, if we would just all be "nice" to them. You see, like the people of our town, she is wary of them - and knows why from personal experience. When the civil war started in Lebanon, her family lived in an area that was predominantly muslim. People who had been their neighbors and "friends" literally for decades turned on them in a single night. All it took was one nut with a fatwah and she and her family escaped with almost nothing but the clothes on their backs. Their nice, friendly muslim neighbors who had known them for years ransacked their home and also stole everything from her father's business, and they dared not protest. One old lady down the street who did protest was promptly killed. So much for living side-by-side in peace. So much for being "neighbors" in peace. There is no peace in Islam, there is only the waiting game.

And the West can't understand that. Neither can the Rabbi.

I hope, class, that you understand this. These people are not here to become Americans. They are here to make Americans become Muslims. And most of them even admit it. So why do we believe the faithless multicultural liberals, instead of the "faithful" Muslims? That, I can't understand.

And Jews need to understand that there is nothing special about America. America is not the promised land. America is going to fall under the weight of its own folly, just like Rome did. Just like countless other arrogant, wealthy civilizations fell, thinking "no one can defeat us." Just like France - another supposedly enlightened, liberal, tolerant country - is finding out, no matter how "nice" you are, Islam bites the hand that feeds it.

So make no mistake, class, what is happening in France now will come here. It's just a matter of time, because we're not smart enough to see our future in Europe's present. We're stupid.
