Please do not vote...

...if the extent of your research on the issues and the candidates has been to watch television commercials.

Please do not vote if you have not looked up the websites for each of the candidates running in your precinct for each open office and understand their positions on various issues.

Please do not vote if you have not read any books or in-depth magazine articles on the issues that you are concerned about, and understand how each candidate's position will affect that issue.

Please do not think that voting in this election is the extent of your responsibility to make sure government is being run properly, because if you don't plan to hold your candidates that you choose accountable for their campaign promises and stated positions, you are wasting your time.

If none of these apply to you, then go vote. We need more intelligent, informed voters and less ignorant air-heads who think commercials are accurate portrayals of a candidate's qualifications and positions. If any of these apply to you, and you haven't voted yet, you still have time to look up your candidates and get in line - 5+ hours of research is better than none at all, and as long as you're in line by 6pm (7 in some states), they have to let you vote. So don't be an ignorant voter, please. If you're not going to vote intelligently, just don't vote.

We have quite enough unintelligent votes, thank you.
